D-Nick has served youth all over the city in Chicago for over 20years spreading his talents to organizations such as, Youth-Guidance, Changing Worlds, & others. D-Nick is most associated with The Microphone Misfitz. The Microphone Misfitz use the pillars of Hip-Hop and their shared dynamics to enlighten and sustain their audiences. Kin Solo, DFeX, and Jet Nam (Jet9) are the choreography & movement artists; Ray of Light is the high-octane hype-man & MC; Mel L. is the Graff artist, vocalist, & road DJ, and D-Nick The Microphone Misfit is the lead MC, lyricist & artistic director of the group. The group was recently featured in the River City Girls 2 video game score and soundtrack with Mega Ran. They have performed at cosplay Expo NV, Fan Expo/Wizard World, Pocket Con, Anime Midwest, Keystone Comic Con, C2E2, MAG Fest & More. In 2018 The Microphone Misfitz became the first Hip-Hop group allowed to tour China since the country banned Hip-Hop. Each of the group's six Albums come inside of a comic book written by D-Nick & illustrated by DC/Milestone comics Daimion Hampton.
