Pinqy Ring is a rooted and revolutionary Puerto Rican MC from Chicago, decolonizing minds one rhyme at a time as a rapper, Hip Hop educator, mentor, speaker, and U.S. Hip Hop Cultural Ambassador. Pinqy serves as a GrammyU Mentor and a member of the Recording Academy’s Education and Membership Committees, sits on the National Advisory Board for Music Will alongside icons like Wyclef Jean and Darryl McDaniels of Run DMC, and manages and facilitates Hip Hop diplomacy programming in collaboration with the U.S. State Department. With philanthropy as part and parcel of her platform, Pinqy mentors the next generation of creative change agents through culturally rooted programming and radical care. As a mentor, cultural worker, and disruptor, she reimagines a world where youth voice and power are at the center of education and liberation.

Her commitment to the classroom extends nationally: she is helping to define the first-ever K–12 Hip Hop Guidelines with the Hip Hop Education Center and created a Hip Hop 101 training for Music Will, equipping educators with culturally responsive tools to meet their students where they are. Building on her legacy of mentorship, diplomacy, and community care, she is also the Founder and Cypher Equity Organizer (CEO) of the Hip Hop Cypher Movement (HHCM), an emerging nonprofit dedicated to harnessing Hip Hop as a vehicle for healing, education, and liberation.

Her artistry includes a music placement with Maybelline and features on NPR, TEDxChicago, and The Chicago Sun-Times. She has been named Chicago Reader’s Best Hip Hop Artist, received the Ida B. Wells Activist Award from the Chicago Women’s History Center, and was honored with the 2024 Brother Mike Award for excellence in youth mentorship. For Pinqy, these awards are affirmations, but her truest pride lies in amplifying the voices of historically excluded communities. A fierce Latina with a loud purpose, she shines with the determination to ignite a brighter future through the fire of Hip Hop.
